A first cigar should be forgiving. That means mild enough that the nicotine does not spoil the evening, cheap enough that a mistake costs nothing, and common enough that you can find it again if you liked it.
Strength is the part that catches people out. It is not the same thing as flavour and it is not the same thing as size — a small cigar can be far stronger than a large one. Everything on this list is on the mild half of the scale.

Reading the list
The number is the Cigarbench score, a single 0–100 figure blended from every rating source we hold. 86 is the middle of the rated catalog and 90 starts the top tenth. The review count next to it is how much evidence sits behind that number — a 91 from 16 reviews is a safer bet than a 91 from 5. The method is on how cigar ratings work.
The price is the average we have on record across retailers, per single cigar. Prices move; treat it as an order of magnitude, not a quote.
What this list does not do
It does not claim these cigars taste good to you. It says they are mild, cheap, and rated well by a lot of people — which is the most a database can honestly say. Nobody at Cigarbench smoked these and picked them.
It is also limited by what we hold. Only a fraction of the catalog has both a trustworthy score and a price, so a cigar can be missing from this list simply because nobody has reviewed it enough times.
